Concise Commentary of the Books of Enoch

By Apostle Eric W.B. vonAnderseck

For centuries Christians have been fearful of Prophet Enoch’s writings, in part due to the distortion of his identity with Adam’s grandson, named Enosh who was the father of the Mystery Religions and all idolatries and partly due to the confusion of another Enoch, the son of wicked Cain who slew his brother Able.

The Prophet Enoch, a holy man of God, is spoken of in the Bible in Genesis 5:23-24, “And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” He was raptured, or translated to heaven, as we read in the book of Hebrews, “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Heb.11:5).

God was pleased with Enoch so translated him to heaven. It also pleased God to change his name to Metatron and give him a multi-dimensional tour of the cosmos, the mystery of His Throne, God’s creation from beginning to end, and the behind the scenes look at His invisible kingdom and master plan for us.

Just as Apostle John of Revelation saw 2000 years of history from the time of the 6th Week (apostasy of the church) to the time of the Second 8th Week (restoration, the time in which we are now living), the time of the 7th Week (the Tribulation), the 9th Week (Millennial reign of Christ) and the 10th Week (the beginning of eternity), and wrote about what God showed him, so Enoch wrote what God showed him.

Enoch’s writings are for our time, that the knowledge of truth, the knowledge of God’s vast handiwork, and an accurate historical account of the fall of the Watchers, and man’s fall might be recalled for such a day as this. We are pleased to introduce a commentary of the books of Enoch, by Apostle  Eric vonAnderseck. On this site you will find the book of Enoch free audio teaching by Apostle Eric as well as transcriptions of his lectures.

The book of Enoch was written by a righteous man, not an idolater. Through him God is revealing to us His thoughts. Then He made a record of it so that Enoch’s writings would be a blessing to all the righteous upon the earth. And this is why the book of Enoch begins with, “The words of the blessing of Enoch. . .”

The knowledge of God is called “secret” for it is hidden from the intellect of man and revealed and understood by those whom Enoch calls the “elect of God.”

The Enochian writings are the template for all the prophets and apostles. That’s why Enoch went to the 7th heaven to pen these books at the mouth of the Lord and bring them down to our dimension. All the patriarchs (who each were the righteous mouth piece of God to their generation) rehearsed and reflected upon the testimony of God in the book of Enoch.

And that’s what is written, “Blessed is the man that reads these things and keeps them before the eyes of the people all their lives.” God planned that these words would be preached in his generation and in our generation today.

These are not random writings of a mad man who is having hallucinatory visions, but rather the writings of a righteous man declaring the testimony of God, which testimony all the righteous identified as the testimony of God; and they rehearsed, reflected, and reciprocated that knowledge in their doxologies and praise to God as we see in the book of Psalms where David blesses the Lord of majesty as he reflects on the things he read in the book of Enoch:

Psalm 104:1–7
1Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

2Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

3Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

4Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
Heb 1:7

5Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

6Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

7At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

Where did David hear of these things, when did he see them, how did he know of them? He learned from reading the book of Enoch about the mysteries of the heavens, the creation of the universe and how God established the order and rotation of all the bodies of the universe, how the foundation of the earth follows the Oath of the Lord, and about the manifestation of angels and how God clothes them.

Every experience that God granted to the Patriarchs was a testimony to God and the progressiveness of His plan throughout all the ages, from the flood of Noah, to the calling out of Abraham to make of him a great nation, to the voice of God Moses heard in the burning bush, to the exodus of the children of Israel. Those written of in Hebrews chapter 11 carried the testimony of the invisible God in them.

The book of Enoch has its beginning in the throne room of God and has its ending in the throne room of God, where the prophet speaks of the same holy city Apostle John wrote of.

Enoch was the only person who had the whole comprehension of the heavens and the plan of God. God gave him a personal tour of the heavens, the earth, and the secret places of the universe. And his angel pointed out and expounded everything to Enoch as a father does his son the Torah to instruct his children, pointing out all things that God has inscribed for us to know. God commissioned the angel to point these things out to Enoch and instructed him to write them down and carry the testimony of God into this dimension. And all the true Patriarchs of God continued to carry the theme of that revelation from the beginning to the very end.

We are now at the very end of the revelation of God to Enoch and God is again establishing His testimony upon the earth by his writings and establishing the credibility of that testimony in our own lives.

Psalm 104 is an expounding of the book of Enoch who wrote about the cherubim of God. . .the clouds of the chariot. . .the wings of the wind. . .the flaming fire. David is talking about the same things that Enoch wrote about seeing. But David’s expounding on it, his rehearsing of it is in light of his own experience with God for this is the testimony of God that He continues to bring forth. This is the thread of God’s knowledge as the testimony of God is continually rehearsed and reflected upon through each generation. And the plan of God is seen through each testimony of the Patriarchs and even in our own lives as we now live by the faith of the Son of God who is Jesus Christ.

David, reading the books of Enoch is expounding it through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through his own eyes: I see and I write what I see, I hear and I write what I hear, I understand and I write what has been illuminated to me. I see God’s hand. And in this God is establishing a testimony: you see how I did this and this and this through my prophets and righteous ones. . .I do all these things. . .this is Me.

Everything that God created is a testimony of Himself, and He says: Everything that is in existence is a portion of Me. You can see uniqueness, consistency, power, order, increase, dominion. . .this is Me. If I created it, it’s because it’s in Me. The carnal minded can only see the necessity of their own existence, while the spiritual minded see and participate in the plan of God. His testimony is their testimony, His desire is their desire, His word is their word for they live by the Oath of the Lord and flow with river of God.
